Dr. Vecdet Öz
Academic, Scientist, and Political Leader
Dr. Vecdet Öz was born on December 15, 1959, in Çarşamba, Samsun. He began his academic journey at Istanbul University, completing his specialization in Clinical Microbiology at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. He later earned his PhD at the Istanbul University Institute of Forensic Sciences and successfully passed the post-doctoral examination, subsequently being appointed as a faculty member at the same institute.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Öz has published numerous national and international scientific papers and authored a textbook on bioterrorism. His work in forensic medicine includes both academic instruction and hands-on training of students, reflecting his commitment to scientific research and education.
Transitioning into politics, Dr. Öz re-established the Justice Party (Adalet Partisi) in 2015 and assumed the role of Party Chairman. The party adopts a center-right political approach grounded in Kemalism, secularism, pluralist democracy, and social justice.
Beyond academia and politics, Dr. Öz is widely recognized for his critical social and economic analyses, particularly his recent evaluations of economic data that have attracted public attention.
