The 14th Ordu Promotion Days, held at the Atatürk Airport Exhibition Area, has once again proven to be one of Turkey’s most prominent cultural gatherings. Bringing together thousands of people from Ordu each year, the event this time unfolded with moments of pride, emotion and unforgettable cultural unity.
The warmth of the people, the nostalgia of hometown memories, the rhythm of the horon dance and the sound of drums created an atmosphere that transformed the heart of Istanbul into a celebration reminiscent of Ordu itself.
Amid this vibrant setting, three distinguished names drew exceptional attention:
Serra Sultan Sayar, Miss Freedom of the World 2025 Grand Prix winner;
Adil Koçalan, Chairman of Istanbul Media Group, widely known as the “Media Mogul”;
and award-winning Hollywood producer Fehmi Gerçeker.
The trio were welcomed with overwhelming enthusiasm the moment they stepped into the venue, greeted by thousands of attendees.
A Memorable Welcome with Drums and Zurna
The reception at the entrance, marked by drums, zurna melodies and the heartfelt applause of Ordu residents, became one of the most emotional highlights of the event. The trio were surrounded by the warm embrace of the crowd, with long queues forming for photographs in a matter of minutes.
Event officials noted that the strongest public interest this year was directed toward “Serra Sultan Sayar – Adil Koçalan – Fehmi Gerçeker.”
A Floral Crown for the Queen
A special crown crafted from yellow flowers grown in the highlands of Ordu was presented to Serra Sultan Sayar by the Municipality of Kabadüz. Sayar’s elegance and her genuine interaction with the visitors earned widespread admiration throughout the day.

Sayar, Koçalan and Gerçeker met with several mayors, engaging in discussions about Ordu’s cultural heritage, tourism potential and future development initiatives. The trio also visited local stands, experiencing the region’s most distinguished traditional flavors.

As a native of Ordu, Adil Koçalan was welcomed with deep pride and affection by both officials and the public.
His cheerful slogan,
“Eat hazelnuts and clear your mind!”
became one of the most talked-about lines of the day.
